A few days ago a friend was digging through  a DVD sale bin at Wal-Mart and he came across this DVD

He loaned it to me for few days, it took me just a few minutes to recognize this was a piece of history, not at all like the many books and DVDs that have been put out by wanabees and parasites that search the internet for information they can borrow.

Every bit of this DVD came from the Military archives and yes there is some white propaganda in it. All of us observed Vietnam through ours and our buddies eyes. The 20 some hours on this set lets you see Vietnam from many eyes.

Of special interest to me was the 1/2 hour about the 1st inf division, something I had never seen before and it was just a few seconds of a film clip during a 1969 day and night attack at Loc Ninh. I had to play that part over again to verify what I was looking at. The film was shot at dark and the camera man was about 2 feet behind 2 grunts with m16s engaged in a heavy fire fight, there was only perhaps 4-6 frames that clearly showed about 4-5 inches of the end of the barrel glowing red-hot. 1969 30 round magazines were common, but how many rounds do you have to fire through the little gun to get the barrel to glow?

Check out the this link if you are interested in the DVD

My natural instincts as a thief landed me in a 2nd/2nd Inf supply room on my 2nd tour
